We just finished the Advanced trimix TDI course on Open Circuit for Chris and 2 CCR divers Sandy & Hiro in Song Hong, down South of Thailand. The have been 3 days in Khao Sok first where Pek finished his Cavern and Intro to Cave and where Jonathon, Chris and Fred were fun diving. The 4th day they travelled down to Song Hong where the deep part began. First Chris, Hiro and Sandy needed to finish their Advanced Trimix course and Pek his Advanced Sidemount course before they went to 130 meters! Fred and ben decided the last 2 days to do 150 and reached the depth of 153 and saw a deep drop off after 155 meters because the Viz was so incredible.
Sandy and Hiro were getting married on the 30th of September at 123 meters but now they found the prefect spot at 130 meter with white sand on the bottom and some kind of Table formed rock. This will definitely be a difficult or impossible Guinness World record attempt to brake for anyone after the 30th of September.
I am sure everyone is happy to be back in Phuket to have a nice non Thai meal, a massage and a nice and comfy bed to sleep in. The accommodation in Song HOng is not bad but you can compare the comfort level of the beds to a table…
The team was cave diving for a total of 12 days and have laid some cool new lines at 60 meters in Song Hong.
