These instructor courses are taught in Phuket or for cave levels and deeper level down South of Thailand.

All TDI instructor courses are designed to teach techniques and ways on specific fields of technical diving and training. Our in-house awarded Technical Diving Instructor Trainer, Ben Reymenants, offers professional and high-end Technical Training available from leading training organizations like TDI.

Technical Instructor is becoming the leading requirement by many dive centers world-wide, when considering employing new staff. Technical Diving Instructors have higher levels of training and  knowledge. They are preferred over OWSI as they can pass on their knowledge to divers and colleagues.

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSES – OPEN CIRCUIT

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSE – SIDEMOUNT

This course is designed to teach Instructors how to teach and safely use side-mounted primary cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration.

TDI Sidemount Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum certification: SDI/TDI Instructor or Equivalent
  • Minimum logged dives: 100

Course Structure:

  • 2 days (one day theory, 1 confined dive – one day diving (3 dives)

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSES – NITROX

The TDI Nitrox instructor Course is the course for Instructors wishing to teach Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) as a breathing gas. If open water dives are included, the maximum depth is not to exceed the skill level of the Instructor.

The goals of this course are to train Instructors in the benefits, hazards, and proper rules for teaching EANx 22 to EANx 40.

  • Minimum age: 18
  • Minimum certification: SDI/TDI Instructor or Equivalent

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSE – ADVANCED NITROX

The TDI Advanced Nitrox Instructor Course is for Instructors wishing to teach the use of EANx 21 through 100% oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 40 metres. The object of this course is to train Nitrox Instructors to teach the benefits, hazards and proper rules for EANx 21 through 100% oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression, multi level dives using gas switches to extend the NDL.

Advanced Nitrox Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum certification of TDI Advanced Nitrox diver or equivalent
  • Provide proof of 100 logged dives, 25 must be nitrox dives
  • Must have certified 10 students in entry-level nitrox

Course Structure :

  • 3 days (one day theory – 2 day diving)

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSE –

DECO PROCEDURES

The TDI Decompression Procedures Instructor course examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. The aim of this course is to train Instructors how to plan and conduct a standard decompression procedures course not to exceed a maximum depth of 45 metres.

The most common equipment requirements, gear set-ups, deco-techniques and decompression mixtures are covered. Students are permitted to use Enriched Air Nitrox mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current Nitrox certification level.

Decompression Procedures Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 18
  • Minimum certification of TDI Advanced Nitrox Instructor or equivalent (unless Advanced Nitrox Instructor course is taught in conjunction with Decompression Procedures Instructor)
  • Minimum certification of TDI Decompression Procedures diver or equivalent
  • Provide proof of 150 logged dives
  • Have certified 10 students in SDI Deep Diver or TDI Advanced Nitrox diver or equivalent

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSE-HELITROX

The Helitrox Instructor course provides the training required to competently teach the methods and procedures for planned stage decompression diving utilizing Helium in the breathing mixture.

The goal of this course is to train instructors how to teach standard staged decompression diving not exceeding a maximum depth of 45 metres / 150 feet. Enriched air nitrox (EAN) and Helium mixes with no greater than 20% He content, and up to 100% oxygen for decompression diving are permitted.

 

TDI Helitrox Instructor Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 21
  • Minimum certification as a TDI Trimix Diver or Helitrox diver and a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor, or equivalent
  • Proof of 10 certified advanced nitrox or decompression procedures divers; minimum of 5 must be decompression procedures divers
  • Provide proof of 250 logged dives with a minimum of 20 logged Helitrox or Trimix decompression dives outside of training, 10 of these dives must be in the last 12 months

Course Structure :

  • 3 days (one day theory – 2 day diving)

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSES – EXTENDED RANGE

The TDI Extended Range Instructor course provides the training and experience required to be certified to competently teach air dives to 55 metres that need staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox mixtures or oxygen during decompression.

The goal of this course is to train Instructors in the proper techniques, equipment requirements, and hazards of deep air diving to a maximum of 55 metres and utilizing Nitrox mixtures or oxygen for staged decompression.

Extended Range Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 21
  • Provide proof of 250 logged dives, 25 must be extended range dives
  • Certification as a TDI Extended Range Diver or equivalent
  • Certification as a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Staged Decompression Instructor or equivalent
  • Must have certified 10 students in advanced nitrox diver or decompression procedures diver, a minimum of 5 must be decompression procedures divers

 

Course Structure :

  • 5 days (2 days theory – 3 days diving)
  • Pre-requisites apply to all instructor level courses

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSES – TRIMIX – NORMOXIC

The TDI Trimix Instructor Course provides the training required to competently and safely teach breathing gases containing helium for dives that need staged decompression to a maximum depth of 60 metres. The aim of this course is to train Instructors to teach the benefits, hazards and proper procedures of utilizing custom oxygen/helium/nitrogen mixtures as breathing gases containing no less than 18% Oxygen – NORMOXIC TRIMIX.

Trimix Instructor Prerequisites:

  • Minimum age 21
  • Minimum certification as a TDI Trimix Diver and a TDI Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures Instructor, or equivalent
  • Proof of 15 certified advanced nitrox or decompression procedures divers; minimum of 10 must be decompression procedures divers
  • Provide proof of 250 logged dives with a minimum of 20 logged Trimix dives outside of training, 10 of these dives must be in the last 12 months

Course Structure :

  • 4 days (one day theory – 3 day diving)
  • Pre-requisites apply to all instructor level courses
  • Certification fee to be paid to SDI/TDI HQ

TDI INSTRUCTOR COURSES – ADVANCED TRIMIX – HYPOXIC

Allowing dives to a maximum of 100 metres/330 feet and utilizing custom helium, nitrogen and oxygen mixes, the TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor Course is the crowning achievement for technical instructors. During the course, the instructor candidate studies a well-rounded curriculum and completes four training dives to demonstrate mastery of advanced trimix skills – HYPOXIC TRIMIX

Advanced Trimix Instructor Prerequisites

  • Minimum age 21
  • Certification as a TDI Advanced Trimix Diver or equivalent
  • Certification as a TDI Extended Range Instructor or TDI Trimix Instructor or equivalent
  • Provide proof of 250 logged dives, of which 30 must be Trimix dives
  • Provide proof of 20 dives deeper than 55 metres / 180 feet

And meet one of the following experience requirements:

  • Certify at least 10 extended range divers or Trimix divers to depths of at least 45 metres / 150 feet
  • Assist with at least 2 complete TDI Advanced Trimix classes taught by an active TDI Advanced Trimix Instructor and provide a letter of recommendation from the assisted instructor(s)
