SSI Instructor Crossover Course – Blue Label Diving

I’ve come to expect nothing but the best from Blue Label Diving and my SSI Instructor Crossover course with Por Parasu Komaradat was no exception.

Many Instructor Development Courses (IDCs) take just a few days to churn out unqualified instructors who will, likely, not be able to provide the maximum dive experience that every open water student deserves. Por spent 4 weeks with two candidates and took every extra effort to turn us into qualified dive instructors.

At the instructor level, dive skills are expected and candidates focus more on presenting these skills as well as teaching and administering courses to SSI standards. By the end of my course, I came to understand that comfort with these standards comes through repetition and I appreciated being provided every opportunity to practice my skills in different teaching scenarios.

A dive instructor should be evaluated based on their experience. My instructor’s experience was clear in the SSI Instructor Crossover course, which far exceeded minimum standards. The course concluded with an evaluation and personal introduction to the SSI Instructor Certifier  at the local SSI Service Center in Phuket. I was connected with SSI dive centers and opportunities for employment both locally and internationally and Por was willing to give professional reference to aid my job search.

Lack of sleep aside (time spent preparing), I have no regrets whatsoever about my SSI Instructor Crossover. Blue Label Diving continues to give the highest quality service and education to all its clients and should be held as a role model for other dive centers.

Thanks Por for a fantastic course and terrific education. I will certainly return to Blue Label for my continued education as a dive professional.
