SSI Rescue course
In SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course, you will learn that stress is a major factor in diving accidents. SSI Rescue course is specialty course, which is also considered as the next level of dive training after Advance Adventurer course. It is designed to teach you everything about stress as part of accident prevention, as well as how to handle problem situations if they occur.
In this course, your instructor will push you out of your comfort zone, and grind you hard on your mental and physical limit. Generally, SSI Diver Stress and Rescue course serves as a reality check for divers, regarding how fast things can go from completely normal into total chaos. Upon finishing this course, you will be more aware about potential dangers underwater, becoming a confident diver in the process.
At Blue Label, we teach SSI Diver Stress and Rescue with React Right course as a package. As Stress and Rescue deals with diving-related situations, React Right First Aid deals with emergency first response. It includes Primary Assessment, CPR, Stabilizations Technique, Oxygen Provider and AED. It is more rewarding for a diver to learn both at the same time to maximize the learning effect.
What do you do and where do we teach you
SSI Diver Stress and Rescue is a two days course which consist of pool training day and open water training day.
Pool Training Day
During your pool day, you will first learn terminologies like “stress factor” in your classroom. Your instructor will then equip you will theory knowledge about mental pressure and stress, and methods to mitigate them before, during and after a dive.
We then bring you to a pool, which is 5m deep. The pool session is to simulate real emergency situations underwater. Your instructor will play victim, while you attempt to offer help and support.
Open Water Training Day SSI Rescue Course
On this day, your training consists of two dives in open water. Depending on the weather, you training will be conducted either from the boat or the beach. Do come prepared, as you will burn a lot of calories today due to the workload you receive. By the end of the day, you will be exhausted, relieved and full of self-esteem. We strongly recommend you to have a pint of beer and an intense massage session for all the hard work.
